1.1. Your contract to hire an item through My Local Party Hire (Renter Contract) consists of:
1.2. The Renter Contract forms a binding agreement between you (the Renter), the Owner (person or business listing the item for hire), and My Local Party Hire Pty Ltd (MLPH).
1.3. The Renter Contract is governed by the laws of Queensland. Disputes arising from this Contract will be resolved in the non-exclusive jurisdiction of Queensland courts.
1.4. The Australian Consumer Law applies to this Renter Contract and provides rights that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. These Terms are subject to those guarantees.
2.1. MLPH is a marketplace connecting renters with owners of party hire equipment. We do not own or control any items listed on the platform.
2.2. MLPH acts as an agent to facilitate bookings and process payments but is not a party to the rental of items between you and the Owner.
2.3. MLPH does not guarantee the condition, safety, suitability, or legality of any item listed. It is the responsibility of the Owner to ensure their items are compliant with safety and legal regulations.

4.1. Bookings must be made through the MLPH platform.
4.2. You will receive a Booking Confirmation email upon successful payment. This confirms your agreement to these terms.
4.3.1. You may cancel a confirmed booking at any time via your MLPH account or by contacting us in writing. The refund issued will depend on the time of cancellation relative to the scheduled hire start time:
4.3.2. “Hire start time” refers to the delivery or collection time confirmed at checkout. All times are based on AEST (Brisbane time).
4.3.3. If you need to make changes to your booking (e.g. reschedule or change location), please contact us as soon as possible. Change requests are subject to Owner approval and availability, and may incur additional charges.
4.3.4. In the event of exceptional circumstances (such as a natural disaster, serious illness, or accident), you may submit a cancellation appeal with supporting documentation. My Local Party Hire may grant a full or partial refund at our sole discretion.
4.3.5. If you wish to cancel a booking within 72 hours of the hire time, you must notify us immediately via email at hello@mylocalpartyhire.com.au. Once funds are scheduled for release to the Owner, we may be unable to recover or reverse the payout without the Owner’s cooperation.
4.4. Owners may cancel due to unforeseen issues (e.g., damaged item). If this occurs, MLPH will refund you in full and attempt to help you secure a replacement item.
